While the
former soviet countries are considered, medical education in Armenia is accepted
as one of the best. Medical degree from Armenia are recognized by organizations
like as WHO, the General Medical Council of the United Kingdom, the Medical
Council of India, the international directory of medical education, etc. Armenia University for MBBS also have
good ranking in all over the world.
If graduates from
medical universities in Armenia are becoming inventors in their fields (MRI
machine, PET scan, modern plastic surgery) have built an impressive reputation
that places Armenia on the map of medical innovations and is currently
considered as a Center for medical research and development.
The professorship
of universities is ranked among the best in the region. There are numerous
scientific publications and rewards at local and international level and
continually has its contribution to the development of medical science
worldwide. The medium of course is English at the universities of Armenia. The
course is designed in such a way that the first 3 years are composed of
preclinical subjects that include anatomy, biochemistry, histology, pathology,
pharmacology and physiology.
The next 3
years are designed in such a way that students can apply the fundamental theory
in clinical subjects such as internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and
gynecology, podiatry, etc. The students work with affiliated hospitals, medical
centers or clinics as part of their internships.
More
specifically, students will receive professional training in assistants of
therapeutic and surgical care, nursing, therapy, surgery, obstetrics and
gynecology, emergencies and first aid for a minimum of 700 hours during the 6
years. The aforementioned program has state final exams in which successful graduate's
achievements are awarded with a diploma with the qualification of 'Medical',
subsequently, graduates can continue with
MBBS in Armenia.
